I'm not sure if this is exactly who you're looking for, but in my family tree I have a Reuben (sometimes written as Reuven) Jaffe from Lithuania who married a woman named Pauline. Reuben is the son of Mende (born 1860) and Frieda (born 1862); I don't have Reuben's birth year, but he has siblings born between 1885 and 1901 so it would fit.

Could Pauline be the Polly you're thinking of? This is a branch of my large family tree where my notes are quite incomplete. Do you know the names of any of Reuben's siblings so we can try to verify this?

I'm looking for a Fannie Jaffe and her daughter, whose name I don't know but was married to Sam Goldstein. They would have lived in Pittsburgh about the end of the 19th century. Fannie died in 1904. Any help would be awesome!

My Great-great grandparents were Aaron and Gittel Jaffe from Shklov/Mogileve/Belorussia/Russia. They had 7 children: Adla (the olest), Joseph (born in 1910 in NY), Chana, Ester, Shale, Lazar (Eliezer), and Meyer. Joseph arrived to the US first around 1906 and brought his family to NY as he worked and earned money. Adla came to Ellis Island with her husband and about 6 children, but were turned away b/c her husband was blind. No one can remember Adla's husband's name. My great-grandmother was Ester Jaffe. She arrive to the US on Nov 7, 1907 at the age of 18. Her brother Joseph paid for her ticket. They resided in Brooklyn. Ester married Harry Schleifer who arrived in 1910 and was sponsored by Ester's brother.
